The Hill occurrence is located on the western side of the East Sooke Peninsula, approximately 3.5 kilometres south of Sooke.

The showing occurs along a north trending shear in fracture-filled and replacement hornblendite. The shear is up to 365 metres long and cuts olivine gabbro of the Eocene Sooke Gabbro.

The chief sulphide is pyrrhotite which is cut by veinlets of chalcopyrite and pyrite. Fine flakes of native copper are present and magnetite is locally abundant.

The mineralization was initially explored by a short adit and an open pit. In 1951, programs of geological mapping, diamond drilling and ground geophysical surveys were completed on the area as the June, Lorna, Moffat and Pac claims. One of three holes drilled in 1951 intersected 32 metres of 0.40 per cent copper (Chubb, 1951).

In 1971, MacSan Exploration completed a program rock, soil and silt sampling on the area as the K2 and K4 claims.
